Basics of Teach-Ins
Teach-ins were usually class-sized discussions at universities and institutions in which were out of school time. Many students would go to these teach-ins to listen and discuss controversial issues based on Vietnam. College Professors as well as other speakers would lead the talks and encouraged other Students to speak their views about the issues. Many teach-ins at the universities would escalate to take over the university campuses in an act to get the government to listen to their opposing thoughts about the war. The largest teach-in took place at the University of California-Berkeley on May 21-23, 1965.
